Just Do It!
Whoever watches the wind will not plant;
Whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
Ecclesiastes 11:4
I guess if you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done!
Don't fret! Spring is coming :)
Don't fret ! SPRING is coming !
I took this picture in downtown Corydon last week :)
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise Him,
My Savior and my God.
Psalm 42:5
Flu blues (or should I say boos)
I've had to put my retired nursing skills to work today. Bill, Mom and Scott (all !) have the flu...fever, aching, cough, cough, cough. Bill started it Thursday and Mom and Scott's hit today. I'm praying I can stay healthy and keep caring for them....please join me in that prayer.Scott can still kid around, but with no appetite.....I know he is sick.
AND every one of them had the flu shot this year
A few of my favorite things - people - pet
These are a few of my favorite things as I start the new year 2011... a new journal, Today 2011 and a new Bible that I can mark up ad lib. Oh! and a good pen...very important!
Ahhh....my favorite spot...with everything I need at hand and Miss Piston to keep me company. Now, who could ask for anything more?
Noone enjoys a celebration more than Scott D. Kemp...and we rang in the new year with glee.
Scott can always find ways to entertain himself...and others.
At 11pm, Scott MUST be dressed for bed, even on New Year's Eve, so.....................
And the elfin Mom aka Gram, MomMom, MeMe wishes everyone a blessed and happy new year too.
Yes, I know Miss Piston should not be on the dining room table and she knows it too, but she is so darn cute.
....and, also, one of my favorite things.
...just look at those pretty paws.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 to you and yours. What are some of your favorite things?

Remembering when........
What is it that clicks those tunes into our minds and, forever after, we can repeat every word with just a note or two intro?
Last evening, Pat (SIL) and her friend, Teresa, and Barbara Jo and myself went to Derby Dinner Theatre for their '8-track - the Sounds of the '70s' show. From the opening number, Pat was transported back in time. She lip-synced nearly every word. She knew "where I was when that was played." She was alive. From this, to this, to this, and this. It was a neat thing to see (and hear!)
Now, my days were the 60s....like this, and this, and this and this.
I think it has something to do with our high school and college days, and first love(s) and such, don't you?

My "warm fuzzy"
Yesterday I visited my ENT whom I hadn't seen in 3 1/2 years. We worked together at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services for over 30 years prior to my retirement in 2006. His first words to me when he walked into the exam room were, "I think of you every day. I walk on the unit and I miss you." What a blessing those words were to me. They made my day! Have you passed anyone a "warm fuzzy" today?
Only BELIEVE
Believe. From my Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) this week and study of John 12, I think I understand more of the glory of Jesus---His power is limitless indeed. My only job is to believe! I don't have to be strong and pretend to have all the answers. God has the power and Jesus can carry each one of us. 2 Corinthians 4:17 says, 'For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.' Fix your eyes on Jesus. I think I get it! Do you?
Reflections on a piece of bark

I attended a retreat and each participant was given a piece of bark and told to reflect on it for some minutes and then write our reflections. Here are mine:
At first glance, this is a very insignificant, rather unattractive piece of bark. But, upon reflection, I could detect a very meaningful story coming from my bark. Its' origin was a massive tree, long-standing, proud and beautiful. It doesn't matter if it were an oak or maple or whatever - it could be as diverse as we are. The tree was shade; for children at play, for company picnics, for farmers resting after a long day in the fields. It was a sight that inspired many as its' green foilage burst forth each spring and as its' leaves turned to yellow, red and golden in the autumn sun. It was a haven and shelter for birds, squirrels and other wildlife. Yes, my little piece of bark had a grand story to tell!.........
