Christmas 2011

Our Christmas day started with church at Calvary Baptist with Michael, Kimberly, Avery, Lydia, Gregg, & Kimberly's parents. A wonderful worship celebrating our Savior's birth and life! then, on to M&K's for delicious quiche & fruit and ready to open gifts there. They decorated their tree with paper ornaments they each made this year...it is lovely, indeed!
Gregg has that "what is this?" look on his face.
...so does Meatball, but he always looks like that :)
Ahh, Epic Plexis -- just what Avery wanted.
Later in the afternoon, we all met at my Mom's for dinner (highlighted by Kelley's delicious rendition of my Mom's chicken and dumplings) and sharing of Christmas joys & gifts :) Here are Scott, Lydia, Kelley, Gregg, Derrick & Shannon with Miss Ava as the centerpiece.
Logan showed me how to "shoot that bear" with his new Red Ryder BB gun, a gift from Pop Frank...no BB's in the house, of course, & Logan knows the rule, "never point a gun at a person!"
...a few more safety lessons from Pop.
Bill - love his Christmas shirt :)
love this pic of Joe & Ava - they both may be close to sleeping with their eyes open.
..and can't resist another of the two of them :)
Loved watching Logan deliver our Christmas gifts...here to Bill K, Kimberly's Dad.
..and Ava revived to join in the gift exchange. I didn't get a close-up of Ava's boots...they were adorable on her :)
Well, I did get the bottom. They are tiny.
twisting cousins ~ Avery and Logan
colorful candy - wish I had gotten a picture of SIL Judy's decorated cookies, but they were pretty well dismantled by this point in the day :)
Now, a highlight of the gift-giving was my Mom's "snuggie gift" to the men. Here Bill K, Kimberly's Dad, does the UK snuggie cha-cha.
...and Gregg, Bill K, and Derrick model them. Joe got an IU one.
Lydia even tried one on!
Love the profile :)
And who found the pickle on the tree this year? Well, Logan was the "pickle winner" and his prize was this huge jar of pickles! That pickle was really hidden this year, and after much persistant searching, Kelley had to give some broad hints for it to be found. Logan said in response to us calling him the pickle winner, "Does that mean Avery and Lydia are the pickle losers?" to which his Momma got after him, but I thought it was a very astute observation for a four-year old.

Sorry I missed pics of some of our family, i.e. my Mom, Jerry, Judy, & June. next time :)
